Board elections are held at the Annual General Meeting. Potential board members must be individual members of ECVO in good standing, submit an application form, and meet the following criteria:
- Based in the Edmonton region
- Possess an understanding of the nonprofit sector’s issues, size and diversity
- Previous board experience
- Experience in the nonprofit/voluntary sector
- Enthusiastic and able to contribute to the development of an emerging organization
- Commit to a three year term with a minimum of one meeting per month, and participation in sub-committee work
- Attend a day long retreat in mid-October
