What we heard from our members in the 2019 Member Exchange

Thank you to the member organizations that recently participated in the 2019 Exchange: A Conversation with Our Members.

Our goal for the Member Exchange was to get your thoughts on our work in 2019, start a conversation on what you’d like to see moving forward, and evaluate the way we’re leading the sector.

We received 54 responses and 94% of you reported that we meet or exceed your expectations.

Not a bad start!

So, what else did we learn?

We learned that the top reason for membership with ECVO is discounted or advanced access to our programs and events. This was also confirmed through your comments where we heard appreciation for the variety of accessible training programs we offer but that you’re full of ideas on what else we could cover.

For example, the need for training in fund development, marketing, risk and technology showed up multiple times.

More than 75-percent of participants selected our biweekly Quick Hits Newsletter as the number one place they go to get updates on ECVO news and opportunities.

When asked about the content of the newsletter, most of you said we’re doing just fine but that you wouldn’t mind seeing more news about what’s affecting the non-profit sector, and you would like us to include a few more webinar and workshop opportunities.

We also asked you how likely you are to renew your membership with us. On a scale of one to ten (one being not at all likely and ten being extremely likely), the average response was 8.6.

"We heard appreciation for the variety of accessible training programs we offer but that you’re full of ideas on what else we could cover. For example, the need for training in fund development, marketing, risk and technology showed up multiple times."

The team at ECVO is truly grateful for our community and those of you who took the time to share your membership experience and provide us with thoughtful feedback. We’re happy to have a benchmark for how we’re serving our members and we’re looking forward to using this information to guide us in 2020.

P.S. Congratulations to the Canadian Parents for French (CPF) Alberta Branch for being randomly selected as the survey prize recipient!
